Belek offers a year round world-class golfing experience and from May until October there's barely a cloud in the sky. Even between November and February, the mild temperatures are perfect for golf.
Belek is typically Mediterranean with hot summers and mild winters. March to June and September to November are the best periods to visit Belek for golf, in terms of climate.
The hidden heroes of Belek, the Golf Superintendents and their green keeping teams, need to undertake both light and heavy course maintenance throughout the year to keep the courses in perfect condition.
No doubt Belek's courses most important maintenance is overseeding. This is required to replace the warm summer grass which hibernates in the winter.
The best overseeding time for Belek is between 20 September - 20 November. Unfortunately these dates are also one of the main busy seasons for golf in Belek and yet it is necessary to close a course for nearly 2 weeks while this work is done.
Below you will find the overseeding dates. This list might help you to plan your trip. The other maintenance works do not require a course to close but are necessary in keeping up the standard for which Belek is renowned.

Golf courses go through a process called overseeding every winter to prepare for the colder months. This involves planting new grass seeds over the existing grass to provide a thicker, lusher surface for play.
Overseeding has several benefits for golf courses. One is that it helps to repair any damage to the grass caused by foot traffic or extreme weather conditions. It also helps to improve the overall appearance of the course, making it look more attractive to players.
The process of overseeding begins with a thorough assessment of the course. The greens and fairways are evaluated for any areas that may need special attention, such as areas that are prone to erosion or those that have been damaged by pests or disease.
Once these areas have been identified, the course is prepared for overseeding. This involves removing any debris from the surface and dethatching the grass to create a seedbed. The new grass seeds are then spread over the surface using specialized equipment.
The seeds are then covered with a layer of top dressing, which helps to keep the seeds moist and protect them from the elements. The course is then watered regularly to encourage germination and growth.
Overseeding can be a time-consuming and labor-intensive process, but it is essential for maintaining the health and appearance of the course. By taking the time to properly overseed, golf courses can provide players with a high-quality, enjoyable experience all year round.
