Düden Waterfalls (Düden Şelalesi) Lara / Fener

The lower Duden Waterfalls in Antalya mark the spectacular end of the upper waterfall complex. Here, the Duden River cascades from the city cliffs into the sea, offering a breathtaking natural experience. This majestic sight can be admired both from land and water, with excursion boats regularly departing from the harbor to approach the over 30-meter-high waterfall.

In contrast, the upper Duden Waterfalls consist of a series of smaller cascades located in a tranquil city park. They mark the beginning of the river and provide an idyllic setting for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

Every year, more than 4 million tourists visit the Duden Waterfalls to experience this impressive natural phenomenon.

Republic Square (Cumhuriyet Meydanı)

Located in the heart of Antalya, Republic Square is a significant historical and cultural site. The Atatürk Monument in the center of the square symbolizes the city's modern history. Surrounding the monument, cafes, restaurants, and shops offer visitors the opportunity to soak in the city's atmosphere. The square also hosts concerts and festivals throughout the year, providing enjoyment for visitors year-round. Nearby attractions include the Clock Tower (Saat Kulesi), the Yivli Minaret, and the Old Harbor (Yat Limanı).

Yivli Minaret (Yivli Minare)

The Yivli Minaret is part of the Yivli Minare Mosque, believed to have been commissioned by the Seljuk Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat I. Constructed using brick material, the minaret features blue tiles for decoration. Standing at 38 meters high, locals consider it a symbol of Antalya, making it one of the city's most popular attractions.

Clock Tower (Saat Kulesi)

The Clock Tower serves as a perfect starting point for exploring Antalya's old town. Initially part of the city's fortifications, it stands as a reminder of Antalya's past. The square in front of the Clock Tower features benches popular among locals and tourists alike for taking a break. Adjacent to the Yivli Minaret, the Clock Tower ranks among Antalya's most beloved attractions.

Old Harbor (Yat Limanı)

Antalya's old harbor is worth a visit, boasting a history dating back to Roman times and once serving as one of the most significant ports in southern Turkey. Visitors can access the harbor from the old town via a street lined with souvenir shops. Offering a picturesque view from the upper harbor area, guests can enjoy the sea from the garden terraces of cafes, bistros, and bars. Boat tours departing from the harbor visit various attractions, with the most popular routes leading to the Duden Waterfall or Side. Party boats offering all-inclusive packages are also available, along with cruises exploring the bays and beaches around Antalya.

Hadrian's Gate (Hadrianus Kapısı)

Built in 130 AD to honor a visit by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, Hadrian's Gate is the only surviving ancient entrance to Antalya's old town. Richly decorated with ornaments, the gate resembles a Roman triumphal arch rather than a simple entrance. Comprising three arches, it is also referred to as the "Triple Gate." Originally constructed with two stories, the upper floor has not been preserved. Towers built in the 2nd century BC flank the arches on both sides.

Kaleiçi (Antalya Old Town)

Kaleiçi, the old town of Antalya, is a captivating place reflecting the city's rich history dating back 2,200 years. In the narrow streets and historic buildings of the old town, visitors encounter a variety of architectural styles influenced by the Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks, and Ottomans. This unique ambiance makes Kaleiçi a living museum of ancient cultures and civilizations.

The streets of Kaleiçi form a labyrinth of history and tradition, winding from the harbor up the hill to the outer walls of the old town. The old houses along these streets tell stories of bygone eras, reflecting the lives, customs, and social structures of the past inhabitants.

The architecture of the houses is as diverse as it is fascinating, with stone and wood connections shaping the buildings, and upper-floor windows providing bright light and enhancing the charm of the old town. Many of these houses have been restored and returned to their original state, offering an authentic glimpse into the life of past times.

Kaleiçi is not only a place of the past but also a vibrant tourism center. Along the narrow streets, numerous cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, and stores selling antique carpets are found. This blend of history and modernity gives Antalya's old town a unique atmosphere that attracts visitors from around the world.

Kaleiçi is not just a place to explore and discover but also a place where history comes alive and memories are created.

Karaoğlan Park

Karaoğlan Park, also known as Karaalioglu Parkı, is located just minutes south of Antalya's old town. It offers a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Antalya and sights such as the City Hall, the City Theater, and the Hıdırlık Tower.

The park features picturesque fountains, cozy tea gardens, and a relaxing promenade. With its idyllic atmosphere, Karaoğlan Park is the perfect place to unwind and recharge during a sightseeing tour of Antalya.

Atatürk House (Atatürk Evi) in Karaoğlan Park

The Atatürk House in Antalya is located in Karaoğlan Park (Karaalioğlu Park) and is a museum commemorating Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's visits to Antalya in 1930 and 1935. The two-story building houses Atatürk's personal belongings and an exhibition of coins since the founding of the Republic of Turkey. Visitors can also view news and photos of Atatürk's visit to Antalya and watch a documentary about Atatürk and Antalya.

Hıdırlık Tower (Hıdırlık Kulesi)

The Hıdırlık Tower is a cylindrical tower built on the city walls of Antalya in the 2nd century. Located in Karaalioğlu Parkı at the southwest corner of the city walls, the tower stands 14 meters high, with a square base and a cylindrical upper part. It is believed to have been built at the order of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. The lower floor features a small room, while the upper floor offers a walking area surrounded by a very thick wall. A staircase leads from here through a corridor to the upper floor. The tower served as a lighthouse and observation tower for ships in the gulf. Due to remnants of frescoes lost over the centuries due to moisture, some sources refer to the lower floor room as a hero's grave.
